Fine copy. ¶ Curious childrens' book about a 'belanda hitam' (i.e. a negro soldier from Ghana serving in the colonial Dutch East Indies Army) and set in Java around 1832. Wamba, the hero of this story is wrongly accused of murder and deserts from the army. After an interlude in which he acts as a boatsman in a pirate ship Wamba is cleared of the accusation of murder and he sails back to Ghana to become chief of his kingdom there. - Buur Jeugdboeken 54.
