This edn. has almost been published simultaneously with the first edn. in the same year, so this edn. might be considered as a re-impression rather than a 2nd. edn. (only place of publication has been changed from Tiel to Amsterdam). This juvenile, one of the few by author, contains 1 story (pp. 3-75) with as subject child's life in colonial Indonesia. The main character is a 10-year old girl of mixed blood, Nonnie(dutch father, a coffee-planter,/javanese mother) that has been sent-out, together with her governess to the Netherlands for further education. The main part of the story describes the sea-voyage aboard the 'Wilhelmina', the subsequent shipwreck, and the survival on an island. A good copy in orig.publ. cloth.
