The work is preceded by the japanese National Anthem with as head-piece an illustration of Niju-bashi, the main entrance of the Imperial Palace, followed by a preface of the Mayor of Tokyo, a concise history of the city and its population growth. After that the earthquake and the damage is shortly reviewed and followed by the final report on the reconstruction, with many tables supplying information on expenditures, municipal finance, loss of wealth in Tokyo after the disaster, population cencus, zoning scheme of Tokyo region, Tokyo Fire prevention zones, restoration works,&c. A presentation-copy in a special binding, with complimentary slip of the Mayor of Tokyo Zenjiro Horikiri, tipped-in on recte of first marbled fly-leaf. Printed on art-paper. A very fine copy. Rare.
