On the occasion of the 1994 Fair, The European Fin Art Foundation (FEFAF) is proud to present treasures from one of the world's greatest collections housed in the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg. This is the first time that it has been possible to organise an exhibition of some size within the framework of an art and antiques fair and we are very happy that visitors to the Fair will have the opportunity to admire these works of art, some of which have never left Russia before. Furthermore, this exhibition is not limited to a period or to a specific area but provides a fairly representative cross-section of the Museum's vast holdings, thus enabling the visitor to follow the development of the extraordinary wealth of The Hermitage. We also hope that the visual and spiritual enjoyment of the works of art here displayed will lead to additional support for the required consevation of the buildings housing the collection.
