Nicely illustrated and sensitively told childrens' book about the life of a a little European girl in Java. This edition is much rarer than the second edtion, published in 1920 in Gouda and which also has entirely different illustrations (by Sijtje Aafjes) that to a much lesser degree capture the 'Indies'-atmosphere that is apparent from this edition. - Buur, Jeugdboeken 307.
