De tekst is een berijmde bewerking van hootdstukken 26 en 27 van het evangelie van Mattheus, verhalende Jezus'lijden en sterven. Ze wordt gezongen in het Engelsch. (cf. introduction). Explanation and elucidation to a rhymed and edited version of J.S. Bach's Matteus-Passion, verse 26 and 27, performed in English, text however in DUTCH. This performance took place in the japanese internment-camp Tanah Abang, Batavia, 30th March 1945, when dutch colonial Indonesia was still under the japanese military occupation. This carbon-copy of a typoscript was distributed to the family Peelen, name in upper right corner of first leave. A surviving copy. Curious and very rare. DUTCH text.
