Jozef Rulof was born of humble parents in a smail village in Guelderland, a province of the Netherlands. At an early age he showed remarkable spiritual qualities which he was to retainfortherestof hislife(1898-1952).Hewas not greatly interested in his formal schooling butloved roaming about in the fields and woods accompanied by his spiritual guide, a radiant entity, perceptible to himself alone. Under his guidance the young boy predicted future evnts, healed patients by the laying-on of hands and revealed other spiritual gifts. As a young man he worked as a taxi-driver in the Hague, and inspired by his spiritual guide, developed his gifts of clairvoyance and clairaudience and began transmitting paintings, writing and lectures. The book cover is an example of such a painting which is a symbol for the title - the gate of heaven means eternal life. This gate is open to everybody who loves all that is alive. The enormous expression of this love was given to us by the Christ, who died on Golgotha, because mankind did not understand the mighty power of love. This is symbolized by the three crosses on the left. The human being is represented by the vase with the flowers symbolizing the higher qualities of his personality which become conscious as he gains in love. As part of the same process he will be released of his lower nature. Aided by his guide, Jozef Rulof developed his astral and causal bodies like all other prophets in human history; to receive and transmit cosmic knowledge in order to awaken souls that were ready to cooperate with the masters in the interests of mankind and all nature. The main purpose of his life, besides diagnosing and healing seemingly hopeless cases, was relieving people of their fears of pain and death and restoring their faith in God and Life eternal. Jozef Rulof visited the United States several times in the nineteen forties and gave lectures in Carnegie Hall, New York. There he astonished the audience by speaking fluent English, in which he had no formal learning - revealed by his guide. The photographs on the last pages of this book were taken during these visits.
