Biography of the famous Raymond Paul Peter Westerling (1919-1987), nicknamed Turk (after his turkish descent by his mother's side), for the greater part dealing with his service and actions in post-colonial Indonesia, during the dutch-indonesian dispute 1945-1950, as commander of a special counter-guerilla task-force Korps Speciale Troepen, K.S.T., esp. on Sulawesi, and his, failed, attempt of a coup at the end of the dispute. His methods caused much uproar both in the Netherlands and Overseas.
