In 1895 and 1897 this industrious dcholar published two studies on this dialect. Of these two, the one published in 1897 is clearly the most valuable, because in it Walbeehm compared dialectical materials received from various Javanese informants. It was a first attempt to survey all the dialects of the North Coast of Central Java, the so-called pasisir-area. The wordlist compiled by him numbered more than 1000 items.'.
